Katwal has several years of experience in human resource development, specializing in leadership transformation. One of his most valuable experiences was partnering with the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania for several years to develop and implement executive programs for senior leaders of a Japanese megabank. He later completed the Wharton School’s Leadership and Management Certificate Program to further enhance global leadership and management training.

Business Experience and Accomplishments

Katwal began his career as a consultant at the Japan office of the American Management Association (AMA), a global human capital development firm. He helped organizations assess their L&D needs and develop high-quality training solutions. His clients included the U.S.
military in Japan, as well as leading firms in the manufacturing, IT, pharmaceutical, real estate, automobile, and financial sectors.
He later joined Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) as human resources development expert at the Learning and Development Institute, where he contributed to global leadership and talent development initiatives. He partnered with several training organizations, including the Wharton School, to design global training frameworks and high-impact talent development programs. Another key accomplishment was his collaboration with HR and L&D teams across Japan and overseas to design, develop, and deliver the Bank’s “Management Philosophy (Mission, Vision, and Values)” program to employees in the Americas, EMEA, APAC, and East Asia.
